Amusement Park Warehouse

You can read all about game centers in the “When Japan” two part guide, Part 1 – UFO Catchers and Part 2 – Variation Prize Games. Game centers are a large part of growing up in Japan and many a weekend is spent loitering around the upper floors of the local game center, playing on the various multi-player arcade games.
The Kawasaki Amusement Park Warehouse is an atmospheric, converted warehouse with several floors of games. While not the biggest game center in Japan, the style makes for an interesting visit. The games are also not overly set to punish your wallet, so fun can be had without feeling cheated.

It is easiest to get there from Tokyo station and takes around 40 minutes. The store has a net cafe, darts, billiards and table tennis, as well as the usual prize games, medal games and arcade games. There are plenty of karaoke places nearby to finish off your day experiencing Japanese past-times.
